Tomorrow Will Be Better Than Today

Because God Always Keeps His Promises

I believe your future looks very bright. No matter how dark it seems right now. Why do I believe that?

Because God always keeps His promises and He has promised to work all things together for good (Romans 8:28).

You will have moments in life where it will be hard to believe that all is bright and all is calm. When you find yourself in one of those moments don’t lose heart.

Instead I want you to remember a very important truth…

Promises are oriented in the future.

Promises don’t immediately come true. They happen at some point in the future. The good that has been promised to you doesn’t happen in the present, it will happen in the future.

Even when you make a promise you’re basing it on something in the future.

The difficult thing for us is waiting for the future and what God has promised us. We want it now. Just like a child wants the present under the tree, we want the gift of the promise now. But as sure as Christmas comes so will God’s promises.

In fact, Christmas reminds us that God keeps His promises. A Savior that would change everything was promised. We celebrate the fulfillment of that promise every Christmas.

In the future you’ll understand the promises of God. In the future you’ll understand how God brought good out of something that seemed anything but bright and calm.

Jesus being crucified wasn’t bright, it was terrible! There was no good to be found in the present, but there were promises oriented in the future and the resurrection happened. The good was oriented in the future.

When you find yourself in a painful situation asking “Why?” Why did this happen? Why didn’t it happen?

The “Why?” of anything comes later. Promises are oriented in the future.

Weeping lasts for the night, but joy comes in the morning. -Psalm 30:5b

Joy comes later. Joy comes in the future.

God has made over 7000 promises in the Bible. One that will cover anything that you will ever face. The more you read and understand them the more peace you’ll experience.

You see when you stake your life on the promises of God, even though now doesn’t seem bright, the future will be. Even if it doesn’t happen tomorrow or the next day or the day after that it will happen…in the future. Because God always keeps His promises.

So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever. -2 Corinthians 4:17-18 Message

No matter what you are facing now…you can have strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow because we know the end of the story. And you’re not at the end.

Lift your head up. Live with bold confidence that God always keeps his promises. You have nothing to fear. Because nothing can stop God’s promises for you.
