Lunch Hour of Power

We’ve been looking at the hidden power of routines and how they are the key to unlocking a life you feel is outside your reach. If you don’t like the results you are getting you are going to have to do something different. Your routines are the key.

Lunch-Time

Today, I want you to think about your lunch routine. You do take a lunch, right? Why not? Many people don’t get paid for lunch so why work through it? You know you aren’t going to leave earlier if you work through lunch–so take the hour break. Use that time to refuel your body and emotions.

What could you do to make your lunch break an hour of power? You could go for a walk and pick up with the content you were listening to on your commute. You could use the time to connect with a friend from church or reach out to someone who is struggling at work. One successful person takes a 21-minute power nap every day on his lunch break. At the very least you should take a moment and text your spouse or even better yet call them and see how their day is going. Let them know you are thinking about them. It’s a powerful gesture that will mean more than you think! Set an alarm on your phone so you don’t forget.

If you are trying to start a business while working your day job this is a time you can invest into your dream job. Bills still have to be paid and you need to eat, so while you are working to live you can use that extra time to hustle in the margins. Instead of investing that time into Facebook you can invest it in your preferred future. The lunch break is a time you typically aren’t being compensated for, so leverage that margin for your dreams.

Maybe you are in your dream job, if so you still need a break. Spend the time doing something that refills your tank from what the morning drained out of you. You aren’t going to get another break until the end of the day. You need this break to carry you through. Make it count!
